SL8B - SL's 8th birthday celebration started this past weekend, and Prim Perfect has a fantastic lineup of interviews, discussions, and Q&A sessions planned.

There's also a new shopping venue just for home & garden designers: the Home & Garden Market. Here's the description from the info notecard:
Creative home & garden designers Wonderful home & garden designs Open 24 / 7
Each month 20 different designers will participate -10 designers for 2 weeks Each month offering a new "theme" where designers create something new and exclusive to the market to fit that theme - on sale to SL residents First theme - "Country Kitchen" Come and explore the creations of designers you may not have known existed in SL in a cute country market setting!
I stopped by to check it out. It is small, but there were a few cute things there and it's definitely worth a visit. I'll be interested to see what comes from future themes, as well.
