The Festival of Sin is open...I haven't been yet. I like to wait for the crowds to die down a bit. I have been seeing pics and peeks of some of the festival items, though, and I'll definitely be stopping by. One of the most exciting things I've seen so far is the new mesh house from Cory Edo of Trompe Loeil: the Ka'u Beach Skybox. Thankfully, Cory sent out a blogger copy of the house so I've already had a chance to check it out up close and in person, just the way I like it.

Oh. Em. Gee.

This was one of those times when I just walked around and around inside the skybox saying "seriously??" in an awe-stricken whisper. The texturing, shading, and lighting are perfect, which makes my snobby little heart just soar. As always, I have SL shadows turned OFF, so what you're seeing is the absolute truth.

Seriously?? Look at those shadows!! And the recessed lighting in the ceilings = love. The K'au comes partially furnished, and there's still plenty of room to add your own pieces...but not TOO much room, which you know I love, so you can still keep things kinda cozy.

I love how open the house is...it gives such a tropical feel. Remember that this IS a skybox; this whole setup is inside a giant black box, so privacy isn't an issue. Speaking of tropical, the coolest thing about the skybox is that it comes with its own ocean. Seriously.

It's a gorgeous view off those lovely balconies. Of course, you can't see in the pic, but the ocean texture is animated and really gives the impression of gentle, shimmering waves. ♥

As mentioned at the start, this house is mesh, so you have to be on a mesh-enabled viewer in order to see it properly. Of course, you're all already using a mesh viewer, though, right. RIGHT??

The Ka'u Skybox is being offered at an introductory price of $L999, only for the duration of the Festival of Sin. I think that is a steal for a house as well done and detailed as this. So...you know what to do. GO.
