 Wizarding Faire 2013 is running until October 20th and it is a must-see. The event set-up is modeled after Diagon Alley from the Harry Potter series, and it is precious! You must go and walk along the winding road and gaze into all the shop windows...and, oh yeah, there are some awesome wizarding supplies for you to buy, too. Bring your own galleons.

Of course, Collabor88 is up and running right now for the October round, and the color scheme used this month means that a lot of C88 stuff meshes really well with a lot of Wizarding Faire stuff, and that means hell yeah! The big pieces above are a mish-mash of the two events: that gorgeous bed is Cheeky Pea's contribution to the Wizarding Faire..the dressers are part of Trompe Loeil's set available at C88...and the throne chair is also part of C88, from floorplan. Nice.

The amazing book stacks are from Lark at the Wizarding Faire and are available to rez and also to wear, which makes for some great photo ops. The jars and the cauldron of books are also at the Faire, and are part of the wonderfully detailed items available from Consignment.

At this month's FaMESHed, you can check out the Baybrooke bedroom from Cory Edo and Trompe Loeil, and I highly recommend that you do.  The cabinet, bookshelf, and side table in the pic above are pieces from that set - I love the detail on the bookshelf so much. ♥ And, as illustrated in that pic, the set is definitely not limited to use in the bedroom (except maybe for the actual beds, but hey, you decorate however makes you happy) but everything else is really versatile and would look great in any room.

This is probably the healthiest blog post ever. 

Autumn is most definitely in the air. I've pulled together this lovely fall scene with beautiful new releases from all sorts of events currently happening: Collabor88, The Arcade, and The Seasons Story.  It's a busy month, events-wise.

That fireplace is from Cory Edo and Trompe Loeil -- the Dardon Stone Fireplace Kit that you can pick up at Collabor88. It comes as individual pieces so you can build the perfect fireplace and patio for your space. I think the fireplace by itself would be lovely inside, too, in a nice rustic lodge or cottage.  

Mostly all of the apples are from my music soulmate Tegan Serin and floorplan. She's got two adorable autumn sets out right now, one at Collabor88 and the other at Seasons Story. All you need to get into an apple pie frame of mind. Mmmmm, pie. 

Those amazingly realistic pumpkins are from Kaz Nayar and PILOT. Those really are gorgeous. The whole little set includes the pumpkins, the wagon wheel, and the hay bale. It's a great deco piece to dress up your space for the season.

I am in the process of actually setting up a new house, for the first time since December 2010. I've told you guys before how crazily infrequently I switch out my own house, considering that I am all up in home and garden stuff all the livelong day. But it felt like time. I'll show pics when I'm done, of course.

In the meantime, though, it seems like fate that Isla Gealach released this lovely set for this month's FaMESHed.  It's the Port Isaac Pier from Cheeky Pea, and it now resides on my very own beach. ♥ The sofa is part of the set, and it's all squishy-comfy (that's a design term); the set also includes pieces so you can build your own pier if you want, or you can just use the shelter part of it if you prefer. It's a gorgeous weathered wood, and I love that the boards are actually a little warped and uneven. Lovely.

We’re about halfway through this round of TLC’s The Garden and its Area 51 theme. There is so much spacey goodness that you need to check out – truly, all the designs are out of this world (because aliens)!

In the picture, we’ve got the Roswell Caravan from Isla Gealach and Cheeky Pea, and the UFO from Tya Fallingbridgeand Pixel Mode. That caravan is just perfect — all the little cabinets inside and a messy little sleeping bunk – exactly what you need for your next UFO-tracking excursion. The UFO is actually meant to be attached and worn so that you can go floating around in your own little UFO, which is the height of preciousness. It’s pretty heavy in land impact, so you may not want to rez it, like, forever…but hell, what do I know about what you want to do? YOU DO WHAT YOU WANT.

dirty laundry.

This is the latest house from Barnesworth Anubis - the Lakeside Cottage, available right now at Collabor88. I really love the layout of this house -- I'm always a sucka for cottages, anyway, and this feels very nostalgic to me. I've always loved the simplicity of cottages like this: subtle architectural details that are lovely but don't steal the spotlight, a great front porch for enjoying nice weather, and an overall quiet and unassuming presence. I see a lot of houses like this in RL, here in the southern US, and they're all precious to me. ♥

The Lakeside is quite a bit larger than it looks from the outside - plenty of room for living, dining, kitchen, bath, and a bedroom or 2, even an office, if you're creative with your space. The textures are quite flat, if you're someone who generally does NOT have shadows turned on (like me) or who uses a brighter windlight as opposed to the defaults (also like me). But, the house is mod, and it seems like it would be pretty easy to retexture the walls - you probably would have to play around with the alignment on some of them - but it's doable. If you use shadows, then as you can see in the pic above, the house looks amazing. So clean and simple - very peaceful, really.

This gorgeous contraption above is the Wringer Bench from Dutchie. I lovelovelove this - it looks super realistic as it is, but it's also set up for materials to really make it come to life. (If you don't know what I mean by 'materials' for SL, do a quick google for it. It's exciting!)

The Food Fair is officially open! I mentioned this a while back, when I first heard about it, and I was very excited! As it turns out, it's not quite what I had imagined, which was an entire fair devoted to mesh food/food props. It's really just for all things food-themed or inspired by food. With that said, though, definitely take a quick browse through there - it's only 2 sims and laid out in a very easy-to-navigate pattern - because there are some great actual food items sprinkled in there. These are some of my favorites from Cuplrit, Haute House, and Shai.

Meanwhile, at The Home Show...Ria Bazar of BAZAR has clearly brought her A game. I love everything she has at The Home Show...I've checked out her shop before and really liked what I saw, and this newer stuff has just reminded me "oh, hey, Bazar is pretty damn awesome. Go there." That's how my inner monologue works. Concise.

Anyway, you definitely need to check out BAZAR at The Home Show (and then some) - and, you know, I don't really mention prices that often on this blog because that's not my focus --  BUT ohmygoodness, Ria is offering her stuff at amazing prices. At least the stuff at The Home Show (I've said that event name like 20 times in this post already - can't be helped) is really wonderfully affordable, especially for the great mesh quality of the pieces. Who doesn't love a bargain??

The Garden opens today! This month's theme is 'Sandbridge' and the event is full of beachy goodness! (P.S. - the theme is inspired by the Sandbridge area in Virginia, which is only about an hour away from me. FATE.)  For Second Spaces, I went with a quaint cottage entryway - a cute little set that's a perfect spot to hang up your tote and towel when you come back home after a lovely day at the beach.

I am SO excited for Second Spaces to be a part of the Arcade this month. This is an amazing event, filled with gorgeous goodness from some of the best designers in SL. Hi. Here's the situation: Home Expo 2013 is going on through this Sunday, June 2. There's A LOT to see, spread across 8 sims. You should totally go. RIGHT NOW. I want to show you all the things that I find there that make me go "oh! yes!" but there is no possible way that I'll have time to do that before Expo is done. SO - I'll show you what I can, just please remember that there is so much more and you need to get over there and see it for yourself!

With that said -- there are some really fun things at Expo from 22769 ~ [bauwerk], which is (I think, I'm not sure) a collaborative effort between Manuel Ormidale and Paco Pooley. That amazing octopus chaise lounge is from there, along with the cute side table and those piles of books. I love book piles. Those wooden ducks on the chaise are pretty awesome, too, and also from 22769 ~ [bauwerk].
