Another gorgeous full room set from Froukje Hoorenbeek of Dutchie - the Dutchie Complete Kitchen. A gorgeous build with wonderful textures and a ton of wonderful details. I love the canisters, pots, plates and bowls...there's also a really cute dish drainer included in the set. Even more exciting are all the beautiful veggies that Froukje included - wonderful for dressing up a space!

Dutchie also did a great job in the construction of this set - with mesh, it can get kinda weird sometimes, depending on how the designer has grouped things together. With this kitchen, you can unlink the whole set and then relink specific pieces -- like the veggies or the canisters and stuff - to use in different locations. The kitchen rezzed straight out of the box is perfection...but if you need to alter it to fit your space, or you just like playing with the accessories like I do, this set gives you those options! It helps if you're really comfortable with linking/unlinking pieces and parts...but the set is copy, so if you mess up, just rez a new copy! I love that flexibility!

It's that time again! The December round of The Arcade has begun as of today, December 1. As always, there is a ton of amazing gacha offerings from so many wonderfully talented designers. You will need pretty much all of the things. ESPECIALLY....[drum roll and general fanfare]......

THE SECOND SPACES READY TO BAKE SET!!!!

arcade_ready to bake_1024x1024 GACHA KEY.jpg

I had a lot of fun with this set. ♥ My gacha machine is 75L per play, and there are 10 mini-sets (each little grouping you see labeled in the pic) to collect. Of the 10 sets, 2 are rare: the Mixer set and the Cookie Press set. Also, each mini-set is ONLY 1 prim Land Impact. I LOVE MESH. In just 10 prims total, you can have everything you need to get your holiday baking done right!

The Arcade runs from now through Dec 31, so you have plenty of time to get over there. IF YOU CAN WAIT. CAN YOU???

This month's theme for The Garden is "The Lodge", which means there is a ton of amazing new creations to help you get all cozy and rustic for fall. I love this theme. ♥

I adore the new Yukon Kitchen from Isla Gealach and Cheeky Pea. There have been a lot of great mesh kitchens released in the past year, but I think SL needs more and more! The Yukon Kitchen is wonderfully rustic and beautifully detailed...as Cheeky Pea always is. I really like how easy this is to set up - it's just two big pieces. Rez out the sink/cabinets...then throw down the island and BAM. KITCHEN. It's great for smaller spaces, and even if you don't have room for the island (which is perfection), you're still gonna get a great look from the sink and cabinets. All the white dishes are included, which is the perfect clutter, and then you still have the countertops left to add your own touches. Easy! Gorgeous! Perfect!

A new kitchen from Cory Edo and Trompe Loeil - the Retro Kitchen - available in, like, a trillion colors. A trillion gorgeous colors. This color is candy pink and it's my #1 favorite. ♥

The Retro Kitchen (available right now at FaMESHed) comes with a rezzer to give you an easy set up like the one above, plus you also get standalone versions of each cabinet and appliance, so you can build your own configuration. That's good planning right there.

blog 2

I love the shine that Cory gets on her metal accents, and I totally love how she uses her brand as, well, as a brand. :) I also prefer a fully stocked cabinet, and Cory includes a bunch of plates and glasses and whatnot - color coordinated, of course - to make it easy to achieve that lived-in look.

My music soulmate, Tegan Serin of floorplan., recently released the adorable Apothecary Chest you can see under the windows. This one is for all your favorite teas.

And that's my new favorite chandelier, courtesy of Rayvn Hynes and MudHoney. I love the shape of it and all the little dangly details! It's also available in several colors, so be sure to check it out!

It's time again for The Arcade, an amazing quarterly gacha festival, and I swear it just gets better and better each time! The designers this round have really done amazing things, and I applaud them all!! There are lots of wonderful home and garden items to be had, but I'll be honest: I am absolutely mental over all the gorgeous food. MENTAL.

I love really well done food in SL, just to have around as "set dressing". I think it makes a kitchen or dining room so much more cozy when you can have delicious-looking goodies out and about. For this round of The Arcade, there are three designers who have absolutely stolen my heart (not for the first time): Allegory Malaprop of Schadenfreude, Julliette Westerburg of Tres Blah, and Azure Electricteeth of Tee*fy.

BLOG 2

The colors! The textures! The appliances!!! This isn't even all that is available from these shops, but I had to give my gacha arm a rest. There is, however, a soft-serve ice cream dispenser from Tee*fy that will be mine. Gacha fates willing, IT WILL BE MINE.

Come try your luck at The Arcade, from now until March 31!! [SLurl]

Seriously, it's like she scanned my brain for the absolute best cottage I could dream up. And there it is. The Newport Beach Cottage from Trompe Loeil is available right now at this month's Collabor88...AND it's only 288L. 2 8 8. Two eighty eight. 288.

I only change my SL house, like, once every 3 years...and the Newport is totally making me think about making some changes about a year earlier than scheduled. ♥

blog 1

blog 2

Really, it's just a gorgeous space. I love almost anything coastal, and this is full of coastal charm. It's also nice and cozy, so it would be easy to fill up and decorate. These are requirements on my checklist.

Also on my checklist: this Cabinet Hutch, also from Trompe Loeil. Omgah love.

blog 3

Do you see that the drawers and cabinets open??? I realize that's not a function that's really applicable in SL, but whatever! It brings me joy. That weathered wood also brings me joy...and possibly a bit of glee. ♥

It's a new(ish) month, which means new cycles of our favorite events! Cory Edo of Trompe Loeil has some new and awesome sets out at FaMESHed and Collabor88, and you need to check them out. Have I ever steered you wrong?

At FaMESHed, the Contempo Living Room set! A great funky modern set in lots of bright colors.

And at Collabor88, the Timeless Kitchen. I love this. Oh, and it's available in an Adult version, too. WINK WINK.

There are a few more color options available, too. Go see.

For someone as wrapped up in SL home & garden as I am, I surprisingly rarely buy  new furniture and/or change up my own living conditions. I tend to keep the same house for years with not a lot of changes to the interior. I think it's mostly because I'm lazy. That's one reason why I hardly ever decorate the houses I'm sent for review. Primarily, it's because I want to showcase the build on its own without distractions...and secondly, because it just takes too much time to really dress up a space properly. What can ya do?

With that said, though, I have recently strayed outside my usual routine. Bought me a new kitchen. Yep. Sure did. Look at me go.

Well, me being me, I did keep several pieces of my old kitchen, too, and just worked in the new stuff. The new stuff happens to be the Vine "Vite" Bistro Kitchen from LISP Bazaar (Pandora Popstar) and I LOVE IT. It's currently available at CHIC², a great event celebrating the 2nd birthday of Chic Management. (You need to check out the whole event, lots of nice stuff: clothes, jewelry, skins, hair, furniture, poses, and more!) When I saw the Vine "Vite" Bistro Kitchen, I made a snap decision to redecorate!

The table and chairs are part of the Castara Dine-in Kitchen from The Loft, and were in my kitchen already. I've also kept some accessories and shelves from that set, too.

The cabinets along the wall are part of the Vine "Vite" Bistro set, and you guys know how I love surfaces on which to put things, so I lovelovelove having this counter space!

The scale, baskets of bread, pastries, and espresso set are also part of the new set. Pandora has really done a great job with her accessories!

The lamps are my favorite. ♥ They're texture change, as well.

The white cabinet in the background is one of my own pieces from the Second Spaces shop, and one of my personal favorites.

So there ya go - my new(ish) kitchen! It's nice and cozy, just like I like it.

I went back and looked at my pics from when I first set this house up in January 2011...and I realize that I have made a few other small changes over the past 18 months...so maybe I'll share those soon, too. Progress!

You know what's fun to say? Stumblebum. stumblebumstumblebumstumblebum. Speaking of, Isla Gealach of Cheeky Pea sent me her April Stumblebum release -- the Likable Things set.

Okay, this isn't really meant to be an outdoor set -- don't ask what that chandelier is hanging from --  but I thought it looked cute on my dock. This is a very precious set -- all mesh -- and really lovely textures. You guys know how I love wood (heh) and that table top is just gorgeous!!

When you click and hold the table top, a menu pops up that gives you options for what kind of stuff to rez on the table. You guys also know how I love stuff. You can pick a few things or a lot of things, and it's so easy because the table rezzes and places it all for you!

As you can see, there are also different textures for the chair cushions, too...again, just click and hold on those cushions for the menu. There are also really cute animations in each chair, and each chair is animated differently from the others. So cute!

Be sure to get over to Cheeky Pea NOW -- or at least before April 14, when Stumblebum wraps up. This is a great set for your space!!

Hi.

Happy 2012.

Update your viewer to mesh-capable if you haven't already.

I love mesh.

Froukje Hoorenbeek of Dutchie is meshing it up all over the place, and I support that. Following her cute little kitchen table, she has now come out with this PRECIOUS mesh kitchen. It's so cottagey!!

The kitchen comes all linked as one object, at 76 prims. It's also color-changeable with just a click of the stove hood.

(The kitchen is also copy/mod, so you can unlink it and modify if you want. Be aware, though, that unlinking it will cause the prim count to go up, because mesh is goofy that way.)

Great light and shadow in this set gives it such realism. Oh, in case you don't know me at all yet, those are not SL shadows in the pics...those are all baked right in to the textures. ♥

Froukje has some really cute little details included...

(I love that the faucets are marked for hot and cold. Cute!)

...and there are lots of great anims and props included in the kitchen, too. Some for you, and some for you and a pal...IF ya know what I mean.

I had no pal at the time of these pics. But my dishes are clean!

Check out the mesh kitchen at Dutchie! [SLurl]

P.S. Froukje has also just released a mesh iron stove. OMG.

P.P.S. She also has the cute little details available for sale individually...so if you don't need a whole kitchen, you should still totally grab some of the accessories to dress up your place.

Ohhi, more mesh furniture! I was so excited to receive the first mesh release from Froukje Hoorenbeek of Dutchie - a cute little Kitchen Table set!

I love the rustic wood texture (and the caned seats look great, too). The tablecloth can be clicked for several different color options, and the lamp can be clicked for three settings, too. Lots of options for just 20 prims!

Speaking of options, this set is packed with animation options. PACKED. Lots of fun animations with props, for just you, or for you and a pal. I love when furniture is this interactive! This is just a tiny sample of everything loaded in there:

FYI, I'm not entirely sure where my hand is going in that last picture.

This really is a precious little set, great for your kitchen or breakfast nook, so be sure to check it out at Dutchie! [SLurl]

I was sent a review folder from Crias Rowlands, the creator behind a fairly new shop: Stuff Store.

I love that storefront. :) Stuff Store is focused on retro pieces, sort of rockabilly mid-century modern is how I would describe it. The selection is fairly small right now, but oh my goodness! Gorgeous baked textures, great use of sculpts - it's all yummy!

This is the Rock & Lay Couch set, also available in a few other color options. The leather texture on this is wonderful -- just the little hint of light reflecting off the corners and the curves of the armrests - perfect! The ashtray and comic books are really cute, too - great little accents.

Next is the SuperFreeze Refrigerator. I love the curves and the color (this is also available in other colors), and the interior is great! I love the sandwiches. :) The SuperFreeze is also scripted for snacking; just click on any item inside the fridge.

This is the Vision TV and the Military Transreceiver. Both of these are able to be used for media, which is awesome. The Military Transreceiver comes loaded with a ton of preset radio stations, which is handy. But aside from all that - look at these!! Especially the Transreceiver -- the detail and texturing is just gorgeous! I WANT MORE.

I truly do look forward to seeing what else Crias comes up with, and I hope it's soon! There are a few more things in the shop for you to check out, so be sure to stop by!

Ohhi! Another review for you today - Colleen Desmoulins sent me the latest from The Loft: the Castara Kitchen. As always, Colleen amazes with her textures, her shading, and her attention to detail.

It's just all so precious! Great for shabby chic styles, as well as country cottage - anything simple and homespun.

So many cute accents and details! I love the little curtains below the stove, and the farmhouse sink is awesome!

In addition to looking amazing, what I love best about a room from The Loft is how interactive it is. Colleen always includes tons of great animations - for the Castara Kitchen, there are singles, couples, and kids animations. The refrigerator is stocked full of food, with lots to choose from, and there are a ton of activities built into the sink, counter, stove, and dining table. Observe:

I decided I needed a snack, so I stood with the fridge open for a bit while I decided. (No electricity bill in SL.) Finally, I went with the most obvious choice - the ice cream.

Well, the ice cream just put me in a mood, so I got busy baking some yummy dessert or another to have later on. Once that was finished, well...I decided to ignore all those dirty dishes and enjoy a nice, calming cup of tea.

See? It's like you're right there with me!! Speaking of right there, be sure to go right there [SLurl] to see the Castara for yourself. It's also now (or very soon) available in blue - the blue tile backsplash is beautiful!
